St. Mattäus, Heroldsberg

This church is part of an impressive landscape, as it is surrounded by four castles (each named for a different color associated with its shudders). These were owned by the Patrician Geuder family, whose coats of arms featuring three connected stars in white on a blue background can be seen within the church. The main altar features a somewhat rare polychrome sculpture by Tilman Riemenschneider in 1490, though this was a 19th-century gift to the church.

A panorama of its interior is also available here: https://heroldsberg-evangelisch.de/die-kirche-st-matthaeus/360-panorama-des-innenraums/
